5 Day SPROUT GUIDE: FEATURING BROCCOLI SPROUTS

 What You’ll Need:

  •  Broccoli sprouting seeds (organic, non-GMO)
  •  Wide-mouth glass jar (quart size)
  •  Sprouting lid or mesh screen
  •  Clean, filtered water

 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Soak
  • Add ¼ cup of broccoli seeds to your jar.
  • Cover with 1 cup of filtered water.
  • Option to ass seed sanitation
  • Use white vinegar at 3% acid (3 parts vinegar + 3 parts water)
  • Soak seeds with sanitation for 15 minutes
  • Rinse and drain thoroughly
  • Fill jar containing seeds with filtered water.
  • Soak for 8 hours.
  1. Drain + Rinse
  • Drain water through the sprouting lid.
  • Rinse with fresh water and drain again.
  • Tip the jar at an angle in a bowl or rack to allow airflow and prevent mold.
  • Place jar onto the countertop device if using The Sprouting Company kit.
  1. Rinse Twice Daily
  • Morning & evening: Rinse with cool water, drain well. (Shake well to drain excess water).
  • Keep the jar out of direct sunlight (a countertop or cabinet works best).
  1. Watch Them Grow!
  • In 5 days, sprouts will be ready when they’re 1–2 inches long with green leaves.
  • Optional: Place in indirect sunlight for a few hours on day 4–5 to green them up.
  1. Harvest + Store
  • Final rinse, then dry on a paper towel.
  • Store in a glass container in the fridge.
  • Use within 5–7 days.

 Tips:

  • Avoid over-soaking or leaving water sitting. Mold loves moisture!
  • Refrigerate and rinse with sanitation option prior to eating to minimize mold.
  • If using a sprouting tray or device, follow manufacturer instructions.
  • Add sprouts to salads, wraps, smoothies, or eat them fresh!
